Society - impact on the people i.e. human living, traditions, celebrations etc.
Tsunami has a huge impact on society, apart from the obvious danger of drowning, tsunami’s can destroy buildings crushing people in and near the buildings, and leave people homeless. It damages crops, causing food shortage, burst pipelines, creating unsanitary water conditions leading to water bourn diseases. When tsunamis occur in poorer countries the tsunami can easily destroy everything since it is probably made of simple material; it will also takes years for the country to start putting itself back together and try to return to normalcy. It has a huge impact on the economy of the affected area because they will directly go out of business and it will definitely take years to start up again; the biggest economy that will be affected is the tourism because people would not want to travel to a country that just had a tsunami. It will also affect the trading economy because all or most of it’s resources have been wiped away and destroyed by the waves. The biggest impact is the loss of family members; this will by far be the greatest impact because it is something that you can’t get back.

Biosphere - impact on organisms i.e. human life, plant life, animal life.
Essentially a tsunami has a huge impact on the biosphere because of the loss of human, animal and plant life. When the massive wave hit the shore the force of it will destroy anything on the shoreline and anything in it’s path afterwards.

- Natural habitats will be destroyed by the sheer speed of the wave leaning many animals homeless and unprotected.
- Many animals will be left injured and could possibly die if help isn't available
- Many human beings will be injured or die from either the force of the wave, drowning or being hit by flying pieces of debris like wood
- The whole environment will change due to the velocity and immense power of a tsunami
- Trees will be uprooted as well as bushes, shrubs, weeds and other plants

Lithosphere - impact on the land i.e. the earthquake causing the ground to split in half.
A tsunami affects the lithosphere from the earthquake, volcano eruption or landslide that happens prior to a tsunami. Because the main cause of a tsunami is due to an earthquake, it affects the lithosphere by causing the ground to shake and possibly rupture; the earthquake can also lead to fires and landslides.

Atmosphere - impact on the air i.e. gases emitted from the disaster and how it affects the air.
Gas emissions from the ground and broken gas pipes release toxins into the air affecting the atmosphere.

Hydrosphere - impact on the water i.e. the sea where the Tsunami occurred.
The way tsunamis impact the hydrosphere is that the sea becomes polluted because the waves pull all the destructive waste, sewages, industrial chemicals and solid, liquid waste back into the ocean. As a result of all the debris from the initial destruction infiltrates and infects all the water sources in the hydrosphere; many of the freshwater supplies within the hydrosphere will be poisoned and no longer be safe for drinking and a safe environment for the sea creatures. Other than receiving more debris, the hydrosphere may also become more oxygenated due to the churning of the water.
